Climbing Wall Award (including abseil module)

Time: 9am-6pm over two days

Location: The George Amey Centre, 366 Simpson Road, Simpson, Milton Keynes MK6 3AG and Big Rock

Price: £150

Bring: personal climbing kit, lunch, must be registered and completed the training course.

 

This award trains candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The CWA does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.

Climbing Wall Award Registration
Candidates wishing to register with the Award must:

•Have a genuine interest in climbing and the supervision of groups on climbing walls.
•Have at least six months experience of using a variety of climbing walls.
•Be not less than seventeen years of age at the date of registration. Candidates may undertake training after their seventeenth birthday but may not attend an assessment course until after their eighteenth birthday.
•Be an individual or club member (of an affiliated club) of a Mountaineering Council such as the BMC.
